Production of 3 detailed prints on blockout vinyl in 111x180 cm for the art project "Hamburger Flure“
PHOTOGRAPHIC TILES - The main tool used by Gilmar Iost in his digital painting is photographic documentation and the subsequent deconstruction of ornamental structures. This results in an ensemble of differences and a regrouping of individual elements that have emigrated from their original context, ultimately forming an ornamental "immigrant society."
The challenge for the artist lies in overcoming the breaks, like a conductor, and bringing the fragments together into a new whole from which they derive a shared meaning. The works "Hamburger Flure" consist of photographs of tiles from hallways in Hamburg.
For the prints, a robust yet flexible material was required. Thus, the choice fell on our blockout PVC banner material, 610 g/m², which we printed using the best printing mode with flexible latex inks to produce high-quality fine art prints. The result is an impressive art object that does not fail to make an impact.
